What we do?
The work of I HOPE continues in the following areas:
- Repairing homes that have been damaged by Hurricane Wilma-roofs, walls, windows, floors, plumbing, electrical
- Replacing furniture that was damaged
- Providing spiritual/emotional counsel through staff
- Providing temporary housing while homes are being repaired-often in travel trailers that FEMA has provided to I HOPE
- Setting up 64 mobile homes for clients to be able to purchase with no interest at pennies on the dollar (some families are able to purchase a $50,000.00, fully furnished and equipped mobile home as low as $500.00; usual cost is approximately $4,500.00 to cover the cost of set up.)
- Referring families to other social agencies that may be able to assist them
- RecommENDing those whose homes are too far damaged to other agencies who can assist them in their rebuilding efforts
